MYSTERIUM is whispering your name….
Join us for an alchemical blend of music, art, ritual theater, deep play, magick, spoken word poetry, invocation, meditation, divination, transformation, illumination and celebration!
Now is the time to open to new mysteries, deeper layers of knowing, and clearer ways of understanding.
The time for MYSTERIUM is fast approaching, and we wanted to let you know that the door is swinging open for you to join us.
Alchemy has been defined as the ancient and modern art of transmuting matter into spirit.
Alchemy teaches us how to experience our day to day lives on a much deeper spiritual and magickal level. Modern alchemy is not an esoteric study of hidden things, but a joyful discovery of the deeper mysteries we can experience in everyday things, and in each other.
Seeking community, friendship, knowledge, and fun?
This weekend, we will explore how we, as individuals and as a community, can refine and develop our understanding, through discussion, experiential workshops, movement, dreaming and celebration.
…an in-gathering of old and new friends, a point in time where we can reflect, as individuals and a community, the light that shines within each and every one of us.
…an opportunity to play, to create, to learn, to deepen in our relationships with each other and ourselves as we mark the wheel’s turning from darkness toward luminosity. Many of us will be wearing white for the evening’s ceremony; please join us!
The MYSTERIUM RITUAL is…
…our Saturday working, a journey through mind, body and spirit using music, movement, voice and stillness to turn heavy lead into purest gold.
… PLUS the weekend includes engaging playshops presented by Jeff McBride, Abigail Spinner McBride, and our special guests.
MYSTERIUM is an exploration into the Alchemical Arts. During our time together, we will have several guest teachers presenting some outstanding offerings.
Normandi Ellis, HIEROGLYPHIC DREAMING, An exploration of dream temples, dream spells and interpretations from ancient Egypt. Statues of Hathor, Isis, Bes, Sekhmet and/or Anubis are welcome to attend, along with frankincense, lavender or sandalwood oil. Bring with you a red length of cloth and a sharpie.
Denny Sargent, FREEING THE ANIMALSELF THROUGH FERAL ALCHEMY, Unleashing Our Authentic Selves within Nature, Much of human suffering and crises in the physical, mental and spiritual realms are aspects of unbalance and repression of the Self. Diseases, self-destructive behaviors, the devastation of our environment, excessive greed, poisoned food and water and an epidemic of modern mental and physical disorders all point to serious imbalance. This is a result of a basic ‘fall from grace;’ We have been systematically cut off from nature and programmed to believe that we are not the animals within Nature that we are. Through my work with Feral Magick as expressed in my last book, Werewolf Magick, I dove deep into prehistoric and authentic shamanic sources and realized that most of our problems began with our cultural, religious and historical severing our ‘human’ selves from our ‘animal’ selves. Tribal cultures tend to see humans and animals as all ‘people’ but our belief that we have divine dominion over all of nature along with our mechanistic view of nature and animals has led us to the current ecological disaster as well as our deep imbalance.
By remembering and renewing the ancient feral alchemy of the Shapeshifters and Shamans, we can call up our sleeping imprisoned Animal-self. The key is reactivating our deepest links with the primal ‘animal brain centers’ as well as our DNA where all animal spirits
reside. In this way we can each free our innate Animal-self and thus reconnect with the animals we have always been, thus regaining our feral instincts, intuition and insight. This leads to re-embracing our true but forgotten place within our ecosystem and thus returning to being of
nature, not as an observer. For the last four years I have spent all my time on this work, have discovered internal and external magickal alchemical techniques for unleashing, focusing and utilizing the Animal-self to these ends. Feral alchemy is a direct way to remove restrictions that make us miserable, ill and fenced-off and opens the way for the true Great Work of again accessing the nurturing power and soul of Mother Nature, the Prima Materia itself.
Candace C. Kant, Ph.D, SEKHMET: A GODDESS FOR THESE TIMES, What could an ancient Egyptian Goddess have to say about the times in which we live How do people relate to Her in these days? Does Her myth have lessons in it for today? Have humans in our world, upset the natural order, just as the humans in Her myth rebelled against Ra. If so, what are we to do? And how does Sekhmet help? We will look closely at Her myth and explore what it holds for us today through narrative, ritual, and poetry.
Thom Cavalli, Alchemy – the Pursuit of Immortality, What is alchemy and why has it fascinated people from the beginning of time? If we start with the premise that we are hybrid creatures, born of the heavens and the earth, the notion that we have a seed of immortality within us is not far-fetched. On some level, people have been aware of their inner divinity from the start. From magic to modern science, the pursuit of immortality has been endless. But there is only one true art, namely alchemy, that has included psyche and soma – body and mind – in achieving a long lasting, healthy life. In this short presentation we will explore this fascination, its pitfalls, and responsibilities, and of course, the bliss of living a meaningful, fulfilling life.
Robert Allen Bartlett will be discussing his new book, the Temper of Herbs. His own research on the Elemental and Humoural qualities of Medicinal Herbs. Humoural Medicine being a very old form of Medicine and Treatment with Herbal Preparations.
ALisa Starkweather, Embers in the Ashes; Tools for Emotional Survival, Unprecedented times means that no one has answers to what we are in or what is ahead and yet here we are together going through it each in our own way. Conversations of privilege, whiteness, trauma, politics, climate change, activism are for many of us, driving narratives. And still, every day we need to get up and meet what is here within ourselves and with those we love with least harm. This session will focus on what our best tools are for strength and resilience as we collectively endure the madness of our times. If we are weary or afraid we will poke the ashes and find some live coals burning bright in us.
Bright Hawk, A Story with Bright Hawk, Enjoy Bright Hawk weaving her spell of magic through story telling. It all begins with those magic words, once upon a time, and “A Story! A Story! Let it Come and Let It Go!” Engaging and entertaining!
Robin Sol Lieberman, Kintsugi Alchemy, How do we mend the broken? The 15th-Century Japanese artform, Kintsugi, shows us a way. Instead of discarding pottery that breaks, the Japanese mend the pieces with gold, creating something more beautiful than before it was broken. In this class, you will learn how to make kintsugi in your very own body. No glue or gold powder required! Just the willingness to be guided in ceremonial meditation as you shine alchemical love into the cracked places. WARNING: some experience a slight gold tinge on their skin after class.
Joan Paulette Robinson, The Mask, the Dream and the Gift: A Tarot Playshop, Please bring your child-self and a tarot or oracle deck of your choice to this light-hearted, interactive experience. We will engage in sacred exploratory play with the cards and with each other in small groups. In this game, everyone wins!
Gina Lucariello, The Star Map In Me, The Road Ahead, As Above, so Below is the wisdom given to us from the Emerald Tablet. The stars, Above, make an energetic imprint on us from our first breath and we move through the world, Below, with the wisdom contained there in. What wisdom do you carry? How will you share that wisdom with the world around you? The Star Map gives an insight to the energies within us, the energies about us in the now, and the energies coming in the future. With the energies about and ahead, what role will we play? You do not need to know your own astrology chart to participate in this workshop, but it can be helpful. If you know your birth time, along with birthdate and birth location you can look here to see your natal chart. I am not endorsing this site’s interpretations, this is just a place you can get information about your Rising sign, Sun Sign, Moon Sign, etc.. https://alabe.com/freechart/default.asp. Even if you are not a fan of astrology, this workshop is still for you. See you there.
Abigail McBride, High Priestess of the Family of Fire, will take us on an adventure of DEEPENING INTO MYSTERIUM, through breath, gaze, touch and imagination, we will find our ways into the layers of awareness and connection.
Jeff McBride, Master Magician and Alchemist, will share new magical mysteries, and will bring somewhat of his treasure for the delight and education of all.
