Mayfire Schedule 2009

*What Worked Well Last Year:
While MEALS ARE NOT PROVIDED for this event, we hope that you will choose to come together at mealtimes to meet each other and connect. We plan to help the community stay connected even more this year, by continuing to have our meals and announcements at the central campsite, Area 2, where the Fire Circle also takes place. We also hope you will be able to join other campers in preparing your food, making this process less daunting for each individual and sharing in the work together.
Instead of structured playshops, we are offering Planetary Affinity groups, where you can meet in a small group each day after lunch. (Spontaneous Community Playshops are also welcome in the later afternoon). There will be seven groups, one for each of the planets in our mythology and the alchemical stage they represent. You are free to choose any group to attend each day. Each group will have a brief check-in circle, a short discussion on the planetary focus and mythology, and an
exploration of ideas which individuals or the group as a whole could bring on at the fire that night, or at any time during the gathering... a chant, a participatory ritual, an offering, a silly song at a meal, etc. We whole-heartedly encourage you explore this new activity!
Sunday afternoon, May 10th
THERE IS NO SETUP THIS DAY, but you are allowed to arrive at the site after 3:00 pm and begin your Mayfire experience.
Monday afternoon, May 11th
Early Arrivals and Volunteer Setup Crew
Come join us in beginning our "great work." Arrivals continue as we gather at the Valley of Fire State Park. We will need many hands at the Fire Circle area starting at 3:00 pm, to set up the site.
Tuesday, May 12th
Continue Arrivals and Setup

4:00 5:30 pm: Making the Connection (Newcomers encouraged to attend)
How to become more fully engaged in your own experience of Mayfire.
Making connections can be difficult, especially for someone new to the sacred firecircle model, and at night around the fire, it can be challenging to stay engaged, present, and interactive. Let's come together to discuss ways to meet these challenges and to begin connecting with each other. (at the Oasis)
6:30 7:30 pm: Dinner you are invited to bring your meal to the Temple at the Oasis (Area 2) to dine with everyone.
7:30 8:30 pm: MAGIC MOMENTS: Performance, Art & Inspiration!

4:00 5:30 pm: Prima Materia Finding Your Intention
By focusing on the internal self, through use of breath, centering, and meditation, you may discover and bring to clarity an intention or focus for your work at the fire. (at the Oasis)

5:30 6:30 pm: Dinner preparation with your campsite buddies
6:30 7:30 pm: Potluck Community Dinner at Oasis
Bring your offering of deliciousness, along with whatever utensils you need to serve it, to the Temple at the Oasis, where we will feast together! Please be mindful of cleaning up after yourself; we all are the clean-up crew.
